Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time. Yet for many people, especially young people and communities that experience its impacts directly, climate change can still feel distant, complicated or difficult to understand. Globally Green’s Climate Education Project was created to change that.
The project focuses on making climate education accessible, practical and relevant to everyday life. We help individuals, particularly young people, build the knowledge and confidence they need to understand climate change, engage in meaningful environmental conversations and take action within their communities.
We believe climate education should not end when a lesson ends.
It should inspire questions.
It should encourage participation.
And most importantly, it should lead to action.
Our Idea
Knowledge is one of the most important foundations for meaningful climate action.
When people understand what climate change is, what causes it, how it affects their communities and what can be done about it, they are better positioned to make informed decisions and contribute to solutions.
But climate education should go beyond explaining scientific concepts.
It should help people connect climate change to the things they experience every day; the food they eat, the water they depend on, the environment around them, their livelihoods, their communities and their future.
Our project therefore seeks to bridge the gap between climate knowledge and meaningful action.
We create spaces where people can learn, ask questions, share perspectives and explore practical ways of responding to environmental and climate challenges.
What We Focus On
Climate Literacy
We provide accessible and accurate information that helps participants understand climate change, its causes, impacts and possible solutions.
Our goal is to make climate knowledge easier to understand and engage with, regardless of a person's educational or professional background.
Youth Climate Education
Young people are not only future leaders; they are already important voices in the climate conversation.
We create opportunities for young people to learn about climate change, develop their understanding of environmental issues and build the confidence to participate in climate action.
Climate Action
Understanding climate change is only the beginning.
We encourage participants to think about how knowledge can translate into meaningful action from individual choices and sustainable practices to community initiatives and environmental advocacy.
Environmental Conversations
Climate action grows when people are able to talk about the issues that affect them.
Through educational sessions, discussions and engagement activities, we create spaces where participants can ask questions, exchange ideas and engage in constructive conversations about the environment and climate change.
Community Engagement
Climate change does not affect every community in the same way.
We recognize the importance of listening to communities, understanding their experiences and making climate education relevant to their realities.
Our project therefore takes climate conversations beyond traditional learning spaces and into communities where knowledge can become a foundation for local action.
Emerging Environmental Leaders
We support young people and emerging environmental advocates with the knowledge and confidence to become voices for climate awareness and sustainability within their schools, communities and wider networks.
Our Approach
We believe effective climate education should be accessible, inclusive, practical and action-oriented.
Rather than simply telling people about climate change, we encourage them to understand it, discuss it and explore what they can do about it.
Our approach is centered on:
We begin by providing accurate climate knowledge.
We then help participants connect that knowledge to the realities around them, create opportunities for discussion and participation, and encourage them to identify practical ways they can contribute to solutions. Because education becomes more powerful when people can see where they fit into the solution.
Taking Climate Education Where People Are
Climate education should not be limited to conferences, universities or specialized environmental spaces.
It belongs in classrooms.
It belongs in communities.
It belongs in conversations between young people, educators, families and local leaders.
Through the Climate Education Project, Globally Green has held educational sessions and climate-focused engagements in a range of learning and community spaces, including Vision Intellectuals School, Good Ambition School, New St. Thomas School, the University of Ghana, and Community Primary School Itolowo in Lagos, Nigeria, among others.
These engagements reflect our belief that climate education can reach people wherever learning and meaningful conversations can take place.
Why It Matters
Climate change is not only an environmental issue.
It is connected to food, water, health, livelihoods, communities, economies and the future we are creating.
When people lack access to reliable climate information, it becomes harder to understand these connections or identify meaningful responses.
When young people are equipped with knowledge and confidence, however, they can become powerful contributors to climate solutions.
They can ask better questions.
They can challenge harmful practices.
They can influence their peers.
They can engage their communities.
And they can become leaders in building a more sustainable future.
Climate education gives people the knowledge to understand the challenge. Community action gives them the opportunity to become part of the solution.
From Learning to Action
Our vision is to see a generation of young people and communities that are informed, engaged, empowered and confident enough to participate in shaping a climate-resilient future.
We envision learning spaces where climate change is understood beyond textbooks; communities where environmental conversations lead to practical solutions; and young people who recognize that their voices, ideas and actions matter.
We want climate education to create more than informed individuals. We want it to help create environmentally conscious citizens, community advocates and emerging climate leaders.
Through educational sessions, community engagement, discussions and practical action, the Climate Education Project works to make climate knowledge a starting point for change.
Because when people understand the challenge, they are better prepared to become part of the solution.
